Welcome to The Border Hunt
The breathtaking Border Hunt country stretches from the Rede in the south to Jedburgh in the north. Hill and open moorland which straddles the Scottish/English border, mostly heather and white grass with in-bye around Otterburn and Bellingham. Good open galloping country with few jumps but plenty of drains.
A horse with good feet, a mind that can read soft going and the stamina to climb the hills and cover the country is needed.
Adjacent Hunts are the North Tyne, Haydon, Tynedale, Morpeth, College Valley and North Northumberland, West Percy, Liddesdale, Jed Forest and the Duke of Buccleuch's.

If you are interested in a day with the Border Hunt, please contact our secretary, George Morrison,
who will help you choose a suitable day and give you directions to the meet.
You don't need any fancy gear, just a hard hat and suitable clothing for the weather,
although members usually wear traditional, practical hunt wear.
Some of the Border hunting country can be soft and hilly, it takes a while for horses
and riders to get used to this type of ground, but we will look after you and make
sure you are guided across the countryside, and safely returned to your box when you are ready to head home!

5th August 2012 - Border Hunt Pleasure Ride 2012
10:00am, Low Leam Farm, West Woodburn NE48 2SF
Come and ride in beautiful Redesdale, passing historic bastles and discover the breath taking views and land of the Border Reivers.
The carefully designed route, which avoids roadwork, is approximately 10 miles (optional 7 mile shorter route), covering grassland, hill farming and country meadows. There is one easy river crossing, plus a variety of jumps and is suitable of all ages and capabilities. Also lead rein route available
Start time: 10am – 1pm
Entry Fee: £16.00 pre booked, £18.00 on the day, lead reins £10.00 – same price as previous years!
All riders will receive a voucher for one free days hunting with the Border Hunt.
