About The Border Hunt
The Border Hunt is of very old standing. For more than 130 years, as far back as records go, the Hunt enjoyed a long family connection. Hounds belonged to the Robson and the Dodd families during that period. In 1951 Jacob Robson resigned the Mastership and handed over the pack to a Committee. For the last 58 years, the Border Hunt Mastership has been with the Hedley Family and the hounds kennelled at their home near Otterburn.
The Border Hunt adheres to the law as it stands both in England and in Scotland.
Who's Who

7th November 2012Compliment
I just wanted to say again how much Val and I enjoyed our day out with the Border Hunt. From the hospitality we received at Hindhope to the excellent days hunting we had up in the glorious country of the Cheviots, it was all a marvellous experience. Having lived in the Borders for most of my life, this was the first time I have been into the Cheviots and the views were fantastic and as stated to you, this was not so much a days hunting but more an equine adventure.
Hope to be out again with you soon.
Best regards
Callum Crawford

A very big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to help at the hunter trial recently. We had a very successful day with 189 competitors taking part and no accidents to report. This event takes a huge amount of organising and support from all hunt members and it is fantastic to see the number of supporters who turn up to help every year.
Hopefully we will be able to run the event again next year.

1st August 2011Compliment
We thoroughly enjoyed the West Woodburn ride on Sunday and, if you can, please thank the 3 lads again that tried with their van and JCB to sort out our broken down wagon. One of them lay underneath the wagon testing this and that but the battery was fine so we were at a loss as to what was wrong and started to think we might have to call on a friend who had already been and gone from the ride to come and rescue us. Then, after being towed by the JCB and successfully bump started we did get home alright. It was really kind of the lads to help us out and very much appreciated.
There was a really good atmosphere to the whole day and it was very well organised, even down to the provision of water and fly spray for our neddies.
Hope to take part in another Border Hunt event soon!

Dear Sir,
I had my first day out on foot with the Border Hunt last weekend and had a thoroughly fantastic afternoon!
From the meet at the Bay Horse to the end of my day at around 2pm I felt welcomed and the whole experience was better than I had anticipated. With the guidance of one of your supporters I was able to have a great day out. The hounds were amazing to watch and to listen to and it was super trying to keep up with them, following them up, down and around.
I especially enjoyed getting a lift on the back of Cameron's quad and had an 'interesting' experience on Susan Scotts buggy!
I hope that New Years day will not be my only day out with you and the Border this year.
Yours Faithfully
Paul Knox
